Mark,

I know that what I am about to suggest isn't even in the same league at the
GTS but if I were looking for a first motorcycle I would consider a used
(or
new) Honda Nighthawk 750. They are pretty "bullet proof" and they look
good
even with a clear wind screen on the front. The Nighthawk won't burn up
the
canyons but it certainly screams relability and has decent power. You can
always move up after your experience level grows.

(Slam away, if you must).

Jeff B.

NOOOOOO!! Don't buy the Bandit!! That engine is having problems with
burning oil. Suzuki has admitted it and is replacing the pistons with
pistons from an earlier year (1999). This is a KNOWN problem on the
2000-2002 Bandito's!

Well, I'm going to swing by the dealer tomorrow night with some cash in
hand.. see how that goes.. otherwise, I've had acouple of people e-mail me
about the Bandit, which doesn't look too bad, and is nice pricewise as
well.

acouple of people did mention it would be tough to bring a GTS down in an
emergency because of how nice it looks, and I do have to agree on that
one..
That is a big factor pushing me towards the other bike, and keeping my eye
open for a GTS in the paper in the next couple of years.
