Here is the latest on mz ABS problem: The guys at Yamaha Custumer Relations in CA talked to my dealer in GA and afterwards called me and now they offer me: Yamaha is supplying a new HU for free (originally they said they don't have anymore HU's) and I would have to pay for labor and other parts like break fluid, etc. The dealer confirmed, I would have to pay for 4 hours of labor at US$64 per hour. I guess, I'll go for it. They said they wouldn't cover everything (parts and labor) because the bike is out of warranty for such a long time and I am not the original owner, plus the bike was not well maintained before I got it.
I remember reading something on this list that I should try to get the replaced HU back for future use (cleaning/rebuilding). What do I have to do, what do I tell the dealer? Do I have a right to get the old HU? Please advise. BTW: since I have changed to a new 120/70 front tire, riding the GTS is even more fun - In my opinion it improves the handling tremendously!
