Have to ask the question , my manual says that the bulbs fitted are H4 and H1 , but you talk about a H3 , is this what it states for your country ?
Had a look around on the web for an answer http://www.streetracing.org/article/products/lights/ This web site says that the H3 is usually used for fog lights , maybe this explains the beam pattern of your H3 , note the site is on about car headlights , it maybe different for bikes .
