After more testing by running up and down A1A this evening along the beach using the HID (low beam) and H3(100 watt high beam) , here is my conclusion....It works. It is not what I had hoped for, but it works in a reverse sort of fashion. Plus, it is too damn much trouble to take it back off.
I adjusted the HID beam pattern the best I could ( which is much more directional and concentrated than it was in the single lenses headlight). It is aimed to hit the road a 100 yards ahead of the bike. The HID still throws off a lot of peripheral light and lights up pretty far down the road beyond the 100 yard aim point. The H3 100 watt bulb, which was supposed to be the high beam is now actually now a low beam and lights up the road between the 100 yards and the bike. I kept both on with approaching traffic in both directions and now one seemed bothered by the light. No car flashed me to dim. I was previously using the single HID in the original GTS single lenses headlight and even though it threw off a lot more light it also never seemed to bother others on the road. Except for a periodic red neck truck driver that didn't like the idea that I put out more light than he did when I passed. It was also both my high and low beam. It worked better and lighted things up much better than the stock high/ low beam when I used a 90/110 watt H4 bulb. This combination of the HID and the H3 100 watt lights the road up even better. Not what I planned, but it works for me...... Now if someone flashes me to dim....I'll turn off my low beam, which is switched from the handle bar high low beam switch........that will confuse them. By the time they figure out something isn't right, I'll have passed them anyway...:>))) hawke
