I remember that quite a while ago Motorcycle Consumer News reported on the
high rate of GTS ABS failures. They said that in their own light-duty
research, the percentage of ABS pumps that were needing replacement was well
over the percentage that would usually force a recall by the NTSB. I think
maybe Yamaha as been as "gracious" as they have been on this issue because
they want to avoid a potential recall situation. In this light, they could
be "reminded" of the failure rate of these units and their past practice of
replacing them outright, and more than likely they will play nice and foot
the entire bill.

Don't hesitate to play hardball with Yamaha, that's exactly what they've
done with most us in the past.
