Hello,

I have the impression that many of you see yourselves as modern
samurai, with Free Software - and Guix in particular - as your katana,
imbued with a soul, and the FLOSS movement as your Bushido, your code
of honor...

...failing to see what these things truly are: sharpened steel rods
and a set of peculiar customs and opinions.

In other words, you are overcommitted.

Regarding AI:
It's not as if you, I, or anyone else has much of a choice in the
matter. The Big Bang happened, AI arrived, and it isn't going anywhere
- no matter how hard you wish it would.

Either we learn to live and work with AI, or someone - or perhaps AI
itself - will render us obsolete. Burying our heads in the sand won't
help. You simply won't see who's kicking you from behind.

Either we find ways to integrate LLMs into Guix, or a new, shinier
tool - far superior to Guix - will appear out of nowhere. Soon.
Adoption and adaptation, as throughout biological evolution, are the
keys to surviving the AI singularity.

My personal guess? One day, we'll all be running around "Brave New
World" style [1], with silicon chips in our heads, together with AI
forming one giant machine, our personalities uploaded to the cloud,
sharing thoughts at the speed of light.

And, in a way, those "personalities in the cloud" and that "sharing of
thoughts at the speed of light" already exist ¯\_("/)_/¯

PS: If somebody's really leaving: thanks for your contributions, folks.
