3e vs. 4e (Was RE: [gurps] Sad day)

The ST and HT Change is no big deal. Every 3e game I've played in had them at
10 points a level anyway. No matter how you do your math an 18 IQ or DX in 3e
is cheaper then an 18 DX or IQ in 4e. A 30 DX/IQ is 425 points in 3e and 400
points in 4e, what a bargain. Magic is both cheaper and more powerful in 4e.
The big problem with this is that it got more powerful while other character
classes like fighters and thieves were weakened.
Psionics aren't balanced in 4e, they are just way overpriced. They are still
just as abusive as they were in 3e. Now it's just nearly impossibly to make a
well rounded Psi. Plus it takes forever to make one now since you have to
'build' all of the abilities that aren't included in the new edition.
The only real problem with Psionics in 3e was the progression. You had very low
powered Psi's up until level 10-15. After that they started getting godlike
very quickly. Every two levels of Telekinesis should have provided about 1
level of standard strength. Telepathy range should have just been much shorter
(and not doubled every level). Also, many games I've played in and seen played
threw out the rule of 16. When not using this rule Psi's (and mages) were
overpowered.

LOL, well I forgot to mention that my 75 point fencer also had Weapons Master,
Extra Attack and other things. Don't get me wrong, he was only good at fencing,
but you couldn’t have made a fencer half as good as he was in 3e for that
many points.

Well, for one thing, characters usually have more points in 4e then in 3e. A
200 point character in 4e is an average character, 200 points in 3e is a big
deal. Also, the 4e character is throwing around 30d fireballs compared to the
3e characters 7d fireballs. The skill level isn't as important as what the mage
can do with it IMO.
Let us pray the Pimp's prayer:
Lord, please pray for the soul of this bitch and guide my pimp hand and make it
strong Lord, so that she might learn a hoe's place. Amen
