You shouldn´t do that.
What you write, does make me think, that you are abusing your GM might,
to be honest.
So, just forget about your wishes :)
Instead, give him something to do, up there - maybe to much to be
handled without the help from others.
Maybe still he is very important, because he is the only one who can
reach some important point / thing?
My point: Don´t abuse the GM might and let the character play!
If you have a problem with the concept of the character, speak with the
player!
