One particular present giver i have no idea for yet, is Volebal the Set
priest, one rather competent magican. Most of what he does is helping in
birth control (Set being AFAIK not only the god of deserts, storms,
dryness, foreigners, redheads and evil, but also of infertility) but none
of the pcs has much need for it.

The present is a magical charm that will ensure a healthy,
male baby. If it is generally thought to work, it would be
a powerful bargaining chip for lots of noble houses.

I don't think that would fit.
Given that he mostly concentrates on the infertility part of Sets portfolio, and is occasionally vocal about it (he is much more happy to sell permanent (until removed by an other spell) infertility spells, then ones lasting only limited time. Or says people, who don't want to be infertile are kinda crazy. Which natrually does not make him polite society in that background.

The pcs in question don't need his primary merchandise simply because one is a lesbian, and the others are male and leave contraception to the women.

The present is a charm that can turn the wearer into a
redhead for a short time.

That would be a rather directly observable effect, which i usually try to avoid for magic in that campain. A charm that makes people misremember their hair as red though could work. Or thinking about redheads, a charm for better reaction rolls by redheads.

An other idea i got after starting the thread would be a charm, that gives a bonus to all rolls for communicating with someone you don't share a language with, or that reduces skill penalities, due to cultural differences with the person, you use the skill on.
