There were a few episodes which highlighted the adventures of the
second-string teams -- not every Stargate consists of O'Neill and
Carter. Still, I find it difficult to imagine a near-future USAF
unit which puts people into blimps.

So the primary flyer would be a modular helicopter or plane, but
they have a few blimps for the right environments?

A TL8 blimp could have solar cells, a fuel electrolysis system,
and some hydrogen-burning engine to 'self-refuel'. In that case
hydrogen could be used for lift, despite the fire risks.

I'm a bit worried about weight. 28.5 lbs. to produce 1 gallon
of LHyd per hour. It could take many days to refuel for a few
hours of flight.

Do you have any suggestion how to do that in GURPS?
