That is one of the points I made to Mike re RPG settings. A RPG needs
internal logic so players can understand the GM. Plenty of precedents
from the media can overcome some of that, if everybody has seen the 
same episodes.

The Segway has contragrav, ducted fans, power cell, and a "harness" 
crew station. The harness option also covers things like skis, so it
could arguably be a Segway. 

The chariot also has contragrav, ducted fans, and a power cell, but 
it has multiple exposed standing rooms.
