Aaron, if you go into MSCONFIG and turn Spyware Doctor off, it'll come right back up. There can be no turning that program off for some reason.

Yes, I did indeed uninstall TripleTalk and reinstall it. I've disabled Scripts and will now re-enable them. I guess I will uninstall the Spyware Doctor.

I've talked to several people--people who don't even use screen readers and their computers for some reason or another, have been messed up by this program, for some reason, so I'm beginning to think it is the culprit. What I don't know is if that program is thinking the scripting is spyware and is trying to clear them or what. Then, once I remove Spyware Doctor, I think I'm gonna reinstall Window-Eyes, just like someone has suggested doing.

        Take care,

Brenda

Brenda,

So does removing Spyware Doctor make any difference? Have you tried re-installing the Triple Talk drivers? I use a Triple Talk USB here, and have no problems under XP or Vista. I'm not, however, using Spyware Doctor. If neither removing it, nor re-installing the TT drivers solves the problem, then go into MSCONFIG, and uncheck everything from loading at startup (except Window-Eyes if it's there). Then reboot, and see if the problem goes away. That will tell us more information that we need to diagnose the problem.

Hello All,
I was so glad to receive my copy of Window-Eyes 7.01 this week. I like the way a lot has changed.
But I'm having some major problems.
I installed it and it seemed to run just fine. It asked me to download some scripts to make applications run better and I did that. I'm running Windows XP Pro with the latest Service Pack and all the updates. I have a Turtle Beach Montego DDl Sound card in here, too. I've got 3GB's of RAM. I run Internet Explorer 7 and all its updates are current. Now, what seems to start happening is this. I'm using the TripleTalk USB for my default synthesizer. It's usually pretty responsive, but since this newest version of Window-Eyes, things have drastically changed. If I use Eloquence or DECTalk 32, I won't exactly have what's going on. I cannot up or down arrow, left or right arrow, backspace or space with ease. If I go to my computer and start looking on drives or folders, it'll take forever to get there and then, you think you've highlighted something, and you've actually highlighted a file or folder above the one you want to do something with or below the one you want to do something with and you don't really know until you delete one and then you know. The system will ultimately crash and basically, there's nothing we can do except to reboot. However, it's not like a normal crash. It seems that if you're downloading something, it'll continue to download if you let the system run, but no speech or any kind of reaction from the screen reader, whatsoever. Yesterday, this happened about five times.
I scanned for viruses and found none. I'm running NOD32 Version 3.
I'm also running Spyware Doctor Version 6. Up to now, the only difference I could tell was that, when I installed Spyware Doctor Version 6, you couldn't just automatically go into a folder when you wanted to. I, just for fun, installed Window-Eyes 7.01 on an older system running XP Home with all its hot fixes, Nod32, Internet Explorer 7 and all its fixes. The differences are this: On the older system, my default synth is the DoubleTalk LT. The other difference is that I do not have Spyware Doctor installed in it. I have no problem on it, whatsoever, with Window-Eyes 7.01. It's a much slower processor. It's an AMD Athlon and on this system here is an Intel processor. On this system, if I try and make the TripleTalk be quiet by hitting the control key to interrupt it, I cannot, but on the other system, if I do that, DoubleTalk LT will stop immediately. Now, as I said, I don't exactly know how to write all this, but it's complicated, to say the least. If you can help, I'd appreciate it.
    Thanks, in advance.
Sincerely,
Brenda
