A very good response Peter, and I'm getting just a little bit peed off with
this thread.

Why not go and look at Aaran's piece on 64 bit implementation and why it
can't, won't, happen over night?

My technical knowledge is very limited which is why I'd like someone to
spell out for me what the possibilities of the GW model of scripting support
could lead to, incuding I'd hope, some concreet examples.

On a more mundane level, I do think that some accompanying model of -aid-for
script development must surely accompany more advanced scripts, for their
development to take place. I'd consider, for example, subscribing to an
audio packages script set to enhance things like Sound Forge in an area such
as, say, using the chaining processing feature in SF, not to mention
thorough going support in dialogues such as the noise reduction plug-ins and
graphic equalizers.

I'm all confused too about where scripting ends, and core development of the
uts of Window-Eyes takes over. Can anyone enlighten me?

Ray.

Hello Aaron,

As a developer of assistive technology, I certainly appreciate GW Micro's
wonderful track record with Window-Eyes. Your typical user does not have a
clue of what goes into a new, major release. Gee, they have already
forgotten that Java support is now available, and that is a big deal in the
business world!

They do not, no doubt, realize what a big deal the new scripting facility
is, and how it will, in the long term, offer users hitherto unimagined
benefits.

Doing it the right way takes a lot longer than slopping something together
that fixes the current complaint, but does not anticipate future needs and
requirements.

Every user has his or her own pet complaints - I want better support for
super tooltips in Word 2007, better support for grid controls in Word 2007,
and so on - but these annoyances are just that; they do not effect my
ability to access core functionality - which should always be the goal.

Keep up the good work for another decade GW!
