I've been using GW Micro since... let's see, window-eyes 2.0 and vocal-eyes
3.0.
Now its 2012, I should be almost 15years.
I spent more than thousands of my own saving for GW Micro and now, I am stil
doing it.
On and off, I can't afford it due to certain financial commitment and the
last time GW Micro offer us, the one time upgrade from any version from 1.0
all the way to 7.5 before its release. That's a flat fee which I can't
remember, its cheaper than the actual cost and one SMA.
That time, I am only at 4.211 and its going to cost me, $500 or more just to
get myself to the latest version.
GW Micro even offer us, the instalment plans for those who can't afford it
with certain percentage or extra service charges and make it, very
affordable still for those low income users.
Which a lot of other products out there, don't offer such support like GW
Micro and commitment to the blind community.

If they are out of business, I will be force to use the shark full-time, and
probably my business will be gone as well as the shark making company charge
way higher.
I need the remote access for a lot of my daily needs, so those free solution
don't apply in such instant.

Getting the upgrades for free would not be realistic. GWMicro would soon be
out of business and we would no longer have the best screen reader around. I
paid $599 for WE 4.1 and now am up to 7.5.2. and have spent $960 for the
upgrades which include one SMA and I have one credit left, a total of $1559.
Just compare that with the cost of the competition.

I'm not a long time user but not a good idea as it would work in theory
but not in practice.
