Hi All:
Okay, I've done it all in the last few days. I've disableed audio enhancements. I've cleaned up msconfig. I've tried the demo of the "Other Screen Reader." I think I can safely say that it is not a WE problem in a way. The other "Screen Reader" stuttered too. Screen readers, of any kind, are not happy with the configuffation of my computer. GW believes that it is a resource problem. Well, I don't know what to believe at this point. I had HOPE playing for six hours, without WE running, yesterday and no stuttering occurred. I even had my daughter use the internet, while HOPE was playing; all went well. The minute I loaded WE, it all came back. On a whim, I started checking my sys-tray, every time the stuttering occurred, and I began to notice that many times it happened when Carbonite was doing a back up. Hmm, maybe GW was write about the resource idea. So the first thing I've done is to set Carbonite to back up once a day, at night, instead of continuously. I will monitor this for a few days and see what happens. I don't think that Carbonite is the main problem here, because I had the stuttering problem before I installed Carbonite. Carbonste just aeded to the problem. My next step is to contact Dell, because a computer with an i7 processor and 8 gb's of RAM, should not have any problems running WE along with other everyday computer activity. I am just glad that it isn't solely a problem with WE, because I love my Screen Reader. I ast stuck on GW! I'm a little more optimistic than I was when I first wrote. Thanks to all of you for listening and offering me your suggestions.
It is good to know that we are "all in this together."
