Well... For non-technical users I would agree, but for you... ?

Anyway, there is a number of people among us interested not only in
English and Vietnamese but other languages too (Nôm, Chinese, Japanese,
French, Russian, ... just to give a few) which only modern multilingual
IME allow.

FYI, a lot of employees of AuF in Vietnam have been running Ubuntu +
SCIM for years now and, yes, they are frequently typing serious
documents in Vietnamese.

SCIM is also the default IME in Ubuntu and used all around the world.
So, it may not work for you but it works quite well for a lot of people.

SCIM, as well as Unikey _and_ some xvnkb part (the preloaded library),
have to be started (loaded) at session start time, not after.

Once again, there are people out there who want to be able to tune their
IME according to their typing preferences and/or usage (eg if they often
switch languages or enter foreign words, v.v.).
