Yes, understand. I will wait for next week to figure out what's what.
Have to wait to see what arrives. Personally, would love the 10.x.x.x on the
back side of the modem. Would make it a shoe-in! I can hope! :)
Have already built a conversion table for if I have to re-address my LAN
if necessary. Am willing to be assimilated.
Best,
Duncan

not sure if this helps or if I can explain it correctly but I have a
customer with one of those modem/router deals. it is set up to DHCP to a
router which has it's LAN side all fixed 10.x.x.x.. while the router comes
in with 192.168.0.2 or something like that. Not sure if that was
configured or if the router just grabbed what it was given by the modem.

modems. That's why initially I tried to configure everything. But it
didn't work. So I reset the modem and my router and just configured it as
if it were just a dumb modem and configured my router as you would
normally set one up (I also use mixed static and dynamc IPs) and
everything works pretty well with the exception of needing to reboot the
modem and router about 1-2x a year. My Linksys has everything enabled
(NAT, SPI, DHCP) and works fine with the 6100 "DSL2+Router" modem.
