They don't want people to cheat but its so easy, and it usually happens when your not even trying to cheat. Some servers out there screw up your stats as well with certain server plugins. I think they should leave those commands in for these occasions.
If you really want them fixed tho, I would open a ticket with the Valve support thing, even though you probably wont get an answer.
