One thing I would add to that for you Ayes.

Did you know deep down in Source2.
Is Source?

So ask yourself why Lag interp ( LERP ) was removed, and " sub ticrate "
added?
So ask yourself why Netgraph was removed, then readded as cq_netgraph?
So ask yourself why SourceTV was removed, and CSTV was added?

Like I said it wasnt to specifically break administrative server plugins.

All around they ( VALVe Devs ) intentionally sabotaged backwards
compatibility.
Despite the fact deep down in the engine, its still Source.
With a lot of added scripting, and other non C+ programming.

Once you realize that. You will realize whats wrong.
And why the engine has been abandoned for Development.

I can take Source today, mod it, add new rendering to it.
And it would be backwards compatible, as well as modernized.
And perform better than Source 2.
While still being backwards compatible.

That said, best of luck with it.
