listen and listen good, go to this post and read

for those of you that are working do you have a linux server? maybe there isnt a problem with linux. see how many people in the post are having same problem. I exec my password config from the path statment i start the server with like this:
x:\Games\SIERRA\Half-Life\hl.exe -console -game cstrike +connect xx.xx.xx.xx:xxxxx +exec adminpass.cfg
ok, then i have to exec adminpass.cfg every round and setinfo still drops by the next map.
NOW LISTEN < NOW LISTEN especially you with the stupid car analogy.............
MY PROBLEM IS NOT BEING DROPPED THAT IS THE CAUSE OF SETINFO information BEING DROPPED........ the setinfo password is gone by the next map.
I put my password in autoexec.cfg like you said kristopher and it didnt work, ok when i connected i had admin rights and everything, then typed SETINFO in the console and my password was gone......right after connection changed mp-timelimit to 2 and the map changed, and beacuse my password was not in SETINFO i was DROPPED...
I will reapeat so everyone understands
SETINFO is the problem something with the net code security as "da rope" said in the post right here...and he codes for Adminmod, ok, stupid linux uses can't read, take that linux manual and hit some sense into your head, ok....
iam not saying i am being dropped by Half-life, they changed something so my password doesnt stay in setinfo...I guess linux is unaffected...ok

Well, the players getting dropped on a mapchange certainly is not a adminmod problem. The problem for Adminmod is that the rejoining plaers lost their authentication because the disconnected and then connect into a different slot.
I have no idea what causes the droppings. My guess is that Valve changed some things in the network protocol to protect against exploints which made it far more touchy. I still don't know when the droppings occur. I've not been able to reproduce it on my server.
Anyhows, there is no quick fix for this from the AM side. We would have to redesign the whole authentication and security thing. I'll see what we can come up with. This sure is annoying as hell.
