As for peeps replying. This email distribution list is used for WAY to many things and maybe some emails get lost, or ignored. Most of us Game Server admins go to the forums. IE: www.steampowered.com or http://server.counter-strike.net/ Both are great places to visit and learn. I learned mostly that way. Now, as for the 64 question... I for one can not answer that. I do run a CS 1.6 server myself. Actually I run a CS 1.6 Warcraft FT Mod and a HLrally server on the same box. One is 14 port, and the HLR is 12. Both are smooth and average ping (50-90 for the west coast. I also have rented servers in Texas that have 2 CS 1.6 servers on them. You can have multiple games servers running with Steam. At one time I had 3 CS 1.6 servers. I installed Steam and by default it named the folder HLServer. I renamed that to HLserver27106. Then I did another installation of Steam and renamed that default HLServer to HLserver27017. Then I installed Steam/HLserver one more time. So I ended up with 3 Folders completely seperated: HLServer, HLServer27106, and HLServer27017. I did this since I run Webstate Pages for the log files. Oops, I am running windows2000 server. Just make sure when you go to the command line for the HLupdateTool, that you updated Each server serperately. Now since I am running 1 CS WC3 and HLrally, I only have a single installation of HLserver. There are subfolders IE: cstrike and hlrally. I just make sure the command line in the shortcut points to the sub directory in the exe. C:\HLserver\hlds.exe -console -game cstrike -port 27015 noipx +maxplayers 14 +mapcycle +map de_audioarena in the shortcut in properties. Some peeps may reply and tell me differently, but this line has worked for me like 3yrs. Well, ok- CS 1.5 was a bit different of a path C:\xxxxxx hlds.exe advises where the executable is -console enables the old fashion text screen -game gamename advises what gamemode to start. -port XXXXX advises what post to start the server on for peeps to connect -noipx can be removed. It drops the IPX error on some servers. +maxplayers xx advises how many players you allow to connect. +mapcycle executes the mapcycle.txt you have set +map mapname is whatever map you want first when server is rebooted or started up. **make sure +map is the same map listed first in mapcycle.txt and in AMX_nextmap plugin. Although this is not much, hopefully it fills the hunger. All this info is what I have been doing for a while and is posted in many forums. Does anyone know how many hl servers a 64 bit system can handle or is there a base line spec on cpu usage per server? and since i am new to game servers BUT not servers themselves....how does one go about running multiple servers thru steam?...Is the a different interface such as a DOS shell or do i need a special version of HLDS to run multiples....so far from what i can tell from running unreal servers our server should be able to handle about 50-60 32 man hl servers...but i still have no info on how to do this... lets all try and be nice and answer Questions for other members...if were not gonna help each other we may as well goto a AOL chat and gab like the rest of the world. thanx for reading or Ignoring this post Critter [-CGZ-]DOA|Gen.Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED]: cybergamezone2002 Website: http://www.cybergamezone.com --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!?
