@msleeper: that's not my point. If I spent the money to play a game that I can no longer play due to the fact that there are REQUIRED UPDATES ... then I could construe this as theft. Nowhere in the original news was it mentioned that this game would constantly be evolving over the next couple of years. I expected updates and bug fixes, but nothing like this. Now, I will think twice before ever purchasing software from VALVe again. I will have to watch the games I'm interested in to make sure they won't change. If they do, VALVe will lose my business. Will it be enough to matter? Probably not. Will I feel better that I'm not charging windmills and arguing to VALVe that they fix stuff? Certainly. I'm tired of going to the cleaners to find my dress shirts are now Hawaiian shirts.
