No, I can't actually. I support a community who have paid me to use my hardware, and my spare time to continue to provide the quality of service they have been used to since July 2000. I do not choose to use their product (see above). Valve are the sole developers of Counter Strike, and so therefore I have no choice from whom I purchase/download my software from. Counter Strike is one of a kind, and though it has been imitated, no one has yet managed to provide a game with the same game play, and the same community spirit that has developed around Counter Strike.
Repetitive criticism like below which has been touted on this valve owned list will have been noted when it was FIRST raised (valve have said someone reads the list daily).
I criticise valve (rather than sitting on the list waiting to criticise other people) because I care what happens to the game - If I didn't care, I would shut up and let them do what the hell they wanted. If people DO NOT criticise mistakes, or high light performance issues, etc. then Valve would never know when they do something wrong, and would not know to fix it. On the other hand, I have praised them when they do things right.
Give the developers a chance. I cannot STAND people constantly moaning about the same issues(the ones that are actually on topic) or how they are losing money or poor game play through performance issues etc due to valves product.
There are a lot of things on this list I don't like, like yourself at this moment for instance, but I don't generate a pointless email which just adds to the numerous flame wars which already pollute this list. My above statement covers the rest of your drivvle.
You all have a choice.
Make _your_ choice (quietly), you don't have to subscribe to this list, you don't have to read any subscriptions from me.
The issues you are repetitively raising are well known to valve. If nothing has been done about it by now then there will be a good reason, but nobody behind valves doors has to answer or tell you or any other admins squat about it unless they desire too.
Does that make it right? Do you actually care about what is going on? It doesn't sound like you have much in the way to offer this list in the way of support or intellectual content.
Flame away if it will make you feel better but it wont change what stands above.
