Not saying this isnt happening but does anyone have hard
facts to back up these claims? I'm refering to graphs
of servers that are running the same maps, the same
configs over time showing the difference in CPU as I've
yet to see anything of this nature.

I hate to break it to you guys but things are not much better over
here in Windows world

We have Dual Core / Dual CPU Opteron servers running Windows 2003

We used to be able to run 2 x 40 + 2 x 32 player 100 tickrate servers
with lots of mods/plugins

Life was good

Now we are down to 18 Players 66 tickrate servers with minimal
plugins and the servers still don't perform that well, especially if
you are used to 100tickrate constant servers.

Life suxs now

Performace is about what I would expect if Valve had in fact snuck
HackCam into CS SRCDS and never bothered to tell anybody.
