First off, I will admit that I have not read all the replies and I'll take my time out for that now. The only way to sign prints that I am aware of that is truly archival is with a pencil. Sharpies seem to fade after about 15 years, even under the best conditions. However, anyone who has actually tried to write on a HP print knows that is a non-starter. So that leaves two options, write in pencil on the mat or have a digital signature on the print. I choose the later option as I no longer frame prints unless specifically asked. Instead the are trimmed flush and mounted on thick gator foam.
I wish I could offer a brilliant solution, but on gloss and satin, I don't think there is one. Bill Green
