The straighten button should work for any projection.  Possibly what 
is happening here is some extreme d,e parameters - This can happen 
with a single stack of images and needs to be fixed somehow.

The 'align...' button needs some better logic, the vignetting 
calculation doesn't work with a single stack of images and hugin 
needs to be fixed not to attempt it under these circumstances.

This is the 'tabbed workflow' that is still available if you don't 
want to use the 'align...' button.

The 'align' button is an assistant for users who don't want to know 
about all this stuff.  We shouldn't make it any more complex to use, 
but it can and should be made more intelligent.
