For the given example images, it works flawless if autopano-sift-c is called without the --projection parameter. If invoking autopano-sift-c with --projection parameters it generates many wrong control points and therefore the optimiser is not capable to optimise the pano. AFAIR the projection parameter was added sometimes between 0.7 and current.
