I still think it is a mistake in terms of usability to assume that the EXIF data is there and is always valid. IIRC there has been at least one case in which one version of Windows would mess up the EXIF data of Nikon cameras. It does not take much to design things to be slightly more fault-tolerant, and it has its appeal as the latest Autpoano Pro vs. Hugin screenshot show. Yuv
