I'm glad 0.7.x came up in the discussion. I've been doing some regression testing (downloading back releases of ubuntu and their hugin releases) and tried 0.7.x beta on 8.04. The result was much better than the current one. I've just began to move through ubuntu's releases one by one to see where it did break.
