Went out yesterday and today, a little. Checked the area below Bicknell Park in Humboldt, and found the hybrids down with the other geese, numerous Mallards, and a pair of Common Goldeneye (male and female). They weren't present today, but considering that both the hybrids and the goldeneyes have been come and go since mid-late December I expect they travel up and down the lower Western Fork of the Des Moines River.
Today I tried to see if I could get lucky finding Gray Partridge, and wasn't. So I tried to find some Barred Owls and succeeded in the locations where they have been occuring. Also have to say that Ottosen has had periodic raids by Ring-necked Pheasants into the 'heart' of town.
