Six Trumpeter Swans were in the same spot between Rutland and 169. They were accompanied by 96 Canada Geese and a female Northern Harrier. This morning I had two male Red-winged Blackbirds at my feeders. A group of four Snow Buntings were along the road east of Ottosen. Ottosen Potholes I think are accessible to people with 4-wheel drive and by the end of the week with over 32 degree F they may be accessible to standard drive vehicles.
Yesterday a large flock(s) of Canada Geese on fields east of Bradgate and north of the river. The fields were filled nearly for one mile squared... No diving ducks on the river yet, and no noticeable activity on the Bald Eagle nest east of the Rutland dam.
