Gene,

Check all the catalogs (master and those attached to the master) for the entry.
You'll probably find the entry in a different catalog than you expected.

Regards,
Steve

Subject: Catalog grief

After a nightmare catalogue restore, I have only my own files that are not
restored. If I try to define an alias I get a duplicate data set name
IDC3009I ** VSAM CATALOG RETURN CODE IS 8 - REASON CODE IS IGG0CLEK - 38

If I try to delete it I get entry not found
IDC3009I ** VSAM CATALOG RETURN CODE IS 8 - REASON CODE IS IGG0CLEG - 42

Any help would be much appreciated, and I would forever in your debt.

Thanks in advance for all replies.

Gene
