Why not TSO? Because using the "System Messages" on the HMC is faster to get to. And, like you, if there is very high CPU, logging on to TSO can be quite SLOOOWWWW! Also, I wasn't able to when a "mad programmer" drove the SPOOL utilization up to 100% in a looping batch job on Sunday.
