To add to the above, the time spent traveling to/from the office (it
would be about 8 hours a week for me if I went to the office 5 days a
week) is time just thrown away.
It's 2017 now, and there are plenty of tools available that provide
pretty immersive collaboration environments. Check out ChatOps as a
concept, and products like Slack, Mattermost or HipChat. Even with more
basic products like Skype or WhatsApp, it is absolutely possible to
achieve collaborative work without physically being in the same building.
