Comment #5 on issue 1659 by takao.fujiwara1: ibus-ui-gtk3 should show local modes of active engines as GNOME does
http://code.google.com/p/ibus/issues/detail?id=1659

I tested it on openSUSE 13.1 + KDE 4.11.

Thank you for your testing.

- If an xkb engine is selected, the panel is empty. It looks a strange gray box for people always using xkb engiens. One idea is showing an icon and/or a text indicating the current input source.

Probably I think it was fixed in the next patch:
https://github.com/ibus/ibus/commit/8ce7ac6088e440ee539ed3299d9a219aac1c8089

- It would be better if the panel disappears soon after any keys were typed.

I think you mean input method engines because xkb engines do not show the panel with above fix.

I'm thinking another usage.
E.g.
1. Type Zenkaku-Hankaku and switch Eisu to Hiragana mode.
2. Type any keys and know the current mode is Hiragana.
3. Click the input mode button on property panel and choose Katakana.

Do you think your request is better?
