Not sure if you have the same layout as mine, but I put mine under the
bottom drawer starboard aft of the dining table, which I think is about at
the back of the keel and 6" stbd.  It's pretty flat there.  I cut an opening
in the bottom of the drawer unit so it is easily accessible by just pulling
out the drawer.   I got a square piece of plastic rain gutter at the
hardware store that just exactly fit my Garmin transom-mount transducer,
used microfiber-filled resin to attach it to the inside of the hull, filled
it with mineral oil and it has been working great for a year now.  I'll
upload a couple of pictures of the installation.
