I have a ”Catalina Friend“ at the Annapolis West Marine store, Julian. He is 
former Catalina 27 owner/racer and is very knowledgeable about all things Cat 
27. Julian suggested I use Starboard, a marine substitute. It is basically a 
plastic sheet, that combined with over size flat washers.
