Microsoft generated Linux 'Weaknesses'. Interesting and worth a read.
Myth 1 - NT is a better file server-
What hardware was used to test this out- a m/c with 2 GB ram? How about =
a p100 with 32 MB?
for Myth 2- have a look at Saint- option 4 is - do not test on WinNT =
servers as they WILL crash.
No such problem for any Unix system
for Q regarding uptime, don't we all know what crashes the most
Myth 3- WinNT is LESS EXPENSIVE !!!
Do you think that WinNT administration and support is free? Linux =
administration is a misnomer. it is just standard Unix administration!
For a complex OS, it is well known that the more power you have , the =
more complex things become. Witness a truck against a car. The truck is =
uglier but it can do things which the car cannot.
If a sysadmin did not understand how to live with Unix he/she would have =
been sacked on the grounds of incompetence long back!
Again , Every collage Student for the past 20 years has seen and worked =
with Unix and now , Linux
