thanks for your kind suggestion. in fact, i am trying to learn emacs at
present and finding it wonderful. however, what i need is a word processor
(like, say, wordstar): something that will not be as resource-hungry as an X
application like StarOffice 5.2, which i also use. i need to do some writing
that cannot be properly handled by text editors. do you think this kind of
thing is available in linux?
