This is not in direct reply to your problem. It's just that if you're
downloading things, I'd like to recommend this programme called prozilla
(downloadable from freshmeat) which is a GREAT download manager and has
resume functions and multiple sectioned downloads. It has accelerated my
download speeds almost by 100%.
