In netscape, proxy is configured for port 8080 for http, gopher, ftp, telnet ...
The proxy is operated using microsoft windows while I use RH7.

If I want to run ftp in $ prompt, how should I use port address?

Using wget kept in /etc dir, I made one simple shell script where I write
the http address to get file and then I run it to download any file.
