Quite possible that the yahoo smtpd is firing off a
reverse lookup on your host + domain. Either of three
things is happening - either it doesn't like the vsnl
domain, or its getting hold of the domain name of your
box and is rejecting that, or finally it can't see a
domain name at all. 
What domainname does your box have?
