It will definitely be. Any current version of
Redhat/Fedora/Mandrake would crawl on less than 256M
of RAM. And mind you, thats the minimum you need for
smooth operation.

Thats the recommended basically means that you need
atleast double the amount to survive. Hey, this is
sounding like I'm talking about Micro....

128 MB of RAM for Fvwm and your scenario would be
fine, I guess.

I've been using debian since more than 2 years now and
have never had any problems with it. I think it is the
easiest distribution to use and apt makes it even
easier.
I use Debian SID btw. It has all the goodies (Gnome
2.4/KDE 3.2 etc.) and I've run GNOME and KDE at the
same time on this system with 128M of RAM !! Now,
perhaps thats pushing things a bit too far, but hope
you got the idea :)
