</LISTADMIN_NOTIFICATION> Hi! I coined a new Subject line flag for the favorite past time of this mail group. [22MM] - TuTu Mein Mein. or you can change it to [TTMM} The usage is difficult to translate in Bengali and also in English. Please use it for personal attacks. I'll make a rule to send such mails to /dev/null BUT THE ISSUE RAISED BY SANKARSHAN is VERY IMPORTANT. I hope LUG stands for Linux user Group and not the literal word that it is. If ilug-cal stands for Linux User Group, which I think it is, then let us examine the benifit Linux and it's Users stand to get by participating in any activity. In this forum we had some alternate proposals given by Indranil which are side tracked. IMHO LUG is a public forum for the benifit of Linux Users and the points raised by Indranil and Sankarshan needs deliberation. To this end we need to formally come up with a few things: 1. Core Objective of ILUG-CAL - call it character/value/charter whatever 2. An list of time based action with adequate resource for these 3. A formal forum to interact and execute the ideas. The present mailing list may not be ideal for this. Now our website says this: "The Kolkata chapter of the Indian Linux Users's group (ILUG-CAL) is a non-profit, volunteer driven organisation dedicated to the propagation and usage of GNU/Linux and Free/Libre/Open Source Software (FLOSS) in Kolkata, and in West Bengal. The organistion tries to provide support to the GNU/Linux community in Kolkata, as well as to increase the usage of GNU/Linux among the general computer users community in the city. It also organises workshops, seminars, etc for the local student community." Let us discuss How Compass participation is relevant towards these objectives. Please substantiate your response (both positive and negative) with action and resource required to meet the objectives of ILUG-CAL.
