That is a good point. Additionaly I also tend to keep off that control panel
by norton which keeps checking the disk as I believe it just shortens the
disks life. I rarely run speed disk, unless like you said, my hard drive is
always running almost full. Another good point to that I think I will
mention here is that it is also a good idea to not keep your hard drive too
full as it will begin the fragmentation process of your drive, this is
especially the case if your under RAMed, as the system begins using disk
space as virtual RAM and by the time you know it with all those reads and
writes, your disk will frag fast.
