There was a second beta released recently (which is referred to as v51 
to distinguish it from the first one, v49).

You probably first played with the original release. The new one 
implements some big changes under the hood (mainly a correction of a 
serious bug), but Safari still has a long way to go. Luckily, the devs 
know that and are working hard. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a 
new beta in the VERY near future.
