I hate seeing these "no problem here" responses, but I'm afraid I need to send one on this subject. I have actually seen more stable internet dialup connections, and slightly faster download speeds, using 10.2.1 originally, and now 10.2.6. I did switch browsers, from Explorer to Safari about the same time, but don't believe that Safari has had much influence on this. If I were experiencing slower connection speeds under 10.2, I would run a Repair Permissions from the Install DVD (this should always be done after any 10.2 update BTW) and then check the Internet and Networking preferences in the OS Preferences to see that they match those from your OS 9 configuration.
