This article refers not to Jag, but to the original X, which WAS slow AND buggy. Even given Apple's track record, I was shocked they had the cojones to charge full price for X users to upgrade to Jag. To me, Jag is just a version of X that functions properly and allows users to get a bit of work done between the "spinning beach balls." Jaguar is the best consumer OS on earth; X.0 & X.1 were not ready for prime time.

According to an article in Wired OS X is next yet "up to speed". Alas, I
don't know enough to have an educated opinion.
