I was under the impression that iTMS sells songs compressed with AAC, which is part of the MPEG-4 standard. Am I wrong?You're correct, but the windooze centric media likes the phrase "Proprietary Apple format". In fact it is part of MP4 developed by Dolby.
Thanks to all for confirming my impression. I just wanted to be sure before combatting to ignorant masses.
