Claris 1.0 on my first Mac, a Classic II - OK and after Wordperfect on my work�s PC - a Grtreat improvement.
Claris 2, still on the Classic II. Better, more �intuitive�, Good dictionary structure (Main and - can�t remember the name, but call it Personal) which worked seamlessly with the thesaurus. Thesaurus structure very well organised for, say, crosswords or for selecting alternative words in letters or other writings. Claris 4. On my 5300c laptop. What on earth is going on? This WP is seriously worse than Claris 2 - indeed worse than Claris 1. The dictionary and thesaurus have shrunk greatly in content. The Find/Change has become much more �clunky� and much more difficult to use. Appleworks 6. On my G4. How is it possible for a more or less satisfactory program to have been virtually destroyed? Now the Find/Change is SO clunky - it requires you to go back to the start after making one change, by greying-out the options. The Dictionary is now really appalling - even worse than on Claris 4. The situation is soban that I have bought a USB floppy disc reader so that I can load Claris 2 - hope it works on a G4. Pity, much work on Claris 4 and Appleworks 6 will be lost.
